During a working trip in March 2024, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament Oleksandr Vasiuk took part in a meeting of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.
“Within the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly, bilateral meetings were held with MEPs of different factions, representatives of the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development,” said Oleksandr Vasiuk.
The participants jointly discussed the following areas:
- Ukraine’s future in the European Union;
- energy security, integration and post-war reconstruction needs of Ukraine. Approximation of Ukrainian legislation to EU energy legislation and policy;
- economic growth;
- the future of the Eastern Partnership and the countries of the region;
- improving defense capabilities and strengthening ties with security partners;
“The work of the EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly is an important event on the path of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. It is an excellent platform for joint discussion of the interim results of reforms in Ukraine between members of the Ukrainian parliament and EU leaders.
