Ukrainian Member of Parliament Oleksandr Vasiuk held a meeting in Brussels with representatives of the Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement (DG NEAR): Limantas Manfredas and Matteo De Simone, specialists in policy, rule of law, and anti-fraud issues. He discussed judicial reform in Ukraine and the fight against corruption.
“We discussed opportunities to deepen cooperation with the European Union on reforms related to the rule of law, financial management, Ukraine’s EU integration, and support from DG NEAR. The Directorate-General for Neighborhood and Enlargement (DG NEAR) of the European Commission is responsible for developing and implementing EU policy regarding neighboring countries, aimed at strengthening relations, cooperation, and stability in the region. It focuses on supporting the rule of law, democracy, and human rights in neighboring countries, helping them implement necessary reforms.
