During his business trip to Germany in June this year, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Vasiuk met with Elisabeth Winkelmeyer-Becker, Chair of the German Bundestag’s Legal Committee, and Günter Krings, a member of the Bundestag.
“We discussed reforms in the Ukrainian judiciary, Ukraine’s reconstruction and membership in the European Union. Ukraine is preparing for EU membership. This is happening in difficult conditions of war, but there is no time to wait,” said Oleksandr Vasiuk.
In the Bundestag, Oleksandr Vasiuk also met with German Member of the Bundestag Jessica Rosenthal.

“Jessica is a true friend of Ukraine, she visited Kyiv this year with a delegation of German MPs. We discussed Ukraine’s membership in the European Union, the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Germany, and support for our country in all important areas,” added Oleksandr Vasiuk.
In addition, Oleksandr Vasiuk had a joint meeting with members of various factions of the German Bundestag to discuss Ukraine’s reconstruction and support in security, humanitarian and international issues.

“The Bundestag members were interested in the current situation in Ukraine. I outlined the areas where our country needs more assistance in the fight against Russian aggression and its consequences. I thank the members of the Bundestag for an interesting and useful meeting! I am grateful to Germany for its strong support of Ukraine!” said Oleksandr Vasiuk.
During his business trip to Germany, Oleksandr Vasiuk also gave an interview to the well-known German newspaper Tagesspiegel, in which he spoke about Ukraine’s accession to the EU, NATO and judicial reform.
